NEWS has reached the Portuguese Government that the Chinese allege want of confidence in Portuguese troops at Macao, and that soldiers have been landed at Voncan by them under pretext of a revolution at Honan-fu.

Portuguese Government request that their Representative may be supported in this matter by His Majesty's Government.

I should be glad if you would let me have your opinion after ascertaining the facts of the case.
